Scalloped Potatoes was a staple growing up, my father would make it all the time as a part of our Sabbath celebrations. The way my dad made it was very rich with regular cheese, butter and milk. So, it was a joy to learn how to make scallop potatoes without those animal products.

Scalloped Potatoes
Potatoes are one of the most satisfying foods created. It is filling, and delicious!
Ingredients
- 4 peeled medium size Potatoes
- 1 1/2 cup Plant Based milk
- 1 cup vegan shredded cheese, opt. 1/2 cup diced onions
- 3 tbsp Plant based butter
- 2 tbsp flour
- dash garlic powder
- salt to taste
- Dash of Cayenne
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Peeled the potatoes and slice them.
- Wash and drain properly before layering them in a greased pan.
- Add the butter and onions to the skillet, cook down until the onions are cooked, about three minutes.
- Add the flour and cook about two minutes.
- Add water and milk. Season to taste and pour this over the potatoes.
- Cover with plant based cheese. Optional
- COVER AND BAKE for about 45 minutes and then uncovered for about 15 minutes to allow it to turn golden brown.
- Serve.
