THAI CABBAGE WITH PURPLE AND GREEN CABBAGE WITH GREEN ONIONS

THAI CABBAGE

With just five ingredients, this tasty slaw is a Thai classic because the garlic and cabbage give it its signature taste. This is a great recipe to keep on hand for those nights when you’re too tired to cook or don’t feel like putting in the effort. This meal’s minimal preparation time requires few ingredients, and the resulting flavors are exquisite.

Incredible Thai cabbage recipe

In Thailand, it is a staple during celebrations of life. To ensure that as many people as possible enjoy Thai food, People seldom use hot peppers while preparing for a big group or dining out at a Thai restaurant. You can also add lime juice to give the Thai stir-fried cabbage a tangy taste. Make adjustments depending on what you like most.

You will find this delectable vegetable dish as an accompaniment to fried rice, salad, or noodles. The garlic greatly enhances the aroma and flavor of this Thai cabbage stir-fry dish. In contrast, when cabbage is cooked, its flavor improves and takes on an intense, garlicky aroma. Vegetables like cabbage, carrots, garlic, and onions provide flavor and a tonne of nutritional benefits to this dish.

Ingredients used in Thai cabbage recipe

Purple cabbage (shredded)

Because of its high nutritional value, purple cabbage is consumed all over the globe. It’s a common ingredient in many cuisines, from cold salads to hot stews. It’s great for adding color and texture to salads and may also be eaten on its own. This cabbage has a negligible quantity in prepared salad mixes of various greens. Purple cabbage is nutritionally superior to green cabbage due to its higher levels of vitamins and antioxidants while maintaining the same flavor and texture.

White or green cabbage (Shredded)

The most common cabbage eaten worldwide is green cabbage, sometimes known as white cabbage. Although white cabbages seem to have ashen green leaves, they are a subgroup of the green cabbage family.

After being cooked, cabbage quickly absorbs the foods’ flavors and makes them tasteful. However, raw cabbage has a sharp, bitter taste. The diversity of cabbages shows how people can cook different tasty dishes with different toothsome flavors. Many types of cabbage have a slightly bitter taste, but some are somewhat sweet.

Grated carrots

Shredded carrots and “coleslaw mix” that includes carrots are both available in stores. After peeling, a box grater or food processor with a shredding blade simplifies carrot shredding. They’re not only for decoration; they can be used to spark a fire, too. Combine in a bowl, adding the cabbage last.

Garlic

Chopping the garlic too coarsely increases the risk of it catching fire. Before adding the garlic to this meal, cut it into pieces of varying sizes. Using the knife’s blade, pound the peeled garlic bulbs against the cutting board before slicing them coarsely.

Onions (minced)

Because they enhance the flavor of coleslaw with no effort, onions are one of my favorite seasonings. Put some onions in there, too. You may customize your dinner by adding as much or as little minced onion as you want.

How to store the leftover Thai cabbage salad?

Even after being in the fridge for a time, specific dishes, like Thai cabbage stir fry salad, improve in flavor. After some rest, all components will get better acquainted with one another. Since of this, the salad is perfect for prepping ahead of time because it holds up nicely in the refrigerator.

It would be a helpful ingredient for the following days of vegetarian cooking. Before placing it in the refrigerator, ensure that it is entirely sealed. As a result, its quality will be preserved for a longer period of time. It has to boast that it has a long shelf life (at least seven days) and is delicious.

How is the Thai cabbage recipe unique?

You can cook this Thai stir-fry with or without meat. Under twenty minutes of cooking time may be all that’s needed to have it ready to eat.

There aren’t many carbohydrates in this meal. This dish is a complete dinner; hence, you don’t need rice or other food. Thai stir-fried cabbage is a delicious and healthy complement to any meal. Include this simple and fast dish with your main meal. You may prepare this Thai meal and bring it to a social gathering where everyone will praise your culinary skills.

Tips to make the best slaw of your life!

Use only the finest ingredients while making coleslaw. Typically, coleslaw is made with green cabbage, but purple cabbage’s peppery flavor and vibrant color make it a great complement. There is a distinct chewiness to the leaves of each plant. You may improve the texture of your slaw by using carrots, celery, and even bell peppers.

Most individuals, particularly those who don’t like mayonnaise, won’t eat a salad if there is too much dressing. You’ll have a bunch of cabbage if there isn’t enough dressing. Make sure you mix ingredients in a separate bowl before being added to the veggies a few tablespoons at a time.

You can keep the cabbage’s crispness by storing the slaw’s vegetables and dressing in separate containers until just before serving. A simple slaw needs just a handful of straightforward ingredients. But suppose you’re resourceful and open to new ideas. In that case, coleslaw may become the main event of your picnic instead of just a side dish.

Why would you love that cabbage recipe?

This fast and healthful Thai cabbage stir fry salad meal asks for a simple and delicious peanut dressing. You get all of that and more in this purple cabbage slaw. Despite the dish’s eye-catching hues, it requires little effort to prepare, thanks to its fruity protagonist.

Make sure you are peeling carrots and cabbage using a vegetable peeler. When combined with the naturally sweet fruit, the dressing’s peppery flavor shines. This may be the most fantastic salad dressing you’ve ever prepared, thanks to adding grated garlic and onion. It’s simple to prepare two weeks’ worth of food and store the surplus in the fridge for the following week.

Notes

Can you make Thai cabbage slaw before time?

Since cabbage becomes mushy when in contact with dressing for an extended time, I recommend waiting to mix the slaw with the dressing until just before serving. To have this slaw ready, mix the vegetables in a dish and keep them separate from the sauce in a tightly sealed container. When prepared to eat, combine all ingredients and give it a good toss.
