Vegan millet cheesecake recipe
Millet cheesecake is a delicious gluten-free dessert that has been making waves in the baking community. It has the goodness of millet flour in it with rich plant-based ingredients. Following this recipe, you can make a creamy and irresistible cheesecake on a whim.
Main ingredients used to make millet cheesecake
Millet
The Cheesecake is made with cooked millet. Millet is a grain that’s been around for centuries. It’s been a staple food in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.
It’s gluten-free and vegan, so it’s excellent for baking. The best thing about millet is that it has no preservatives or artificial flavors! Millet also has less saturated fats, and high fiber, protein, and calcium. As a result, it provides a lasting firm texture to cheesecake.
All you need to cook millet to perfection and give it a good whirl in your blender or food processor. This goodness of millet will help you feel full longer, so you won’t need to eat as much.
If you don’t like millet, you can opt for gluten-free oats. They both work in the same way!
Pineapple juice
Pineapple juice has a sweet and undefinable refreshing taste. So pineapple juice should be your best bet if you want to add the same flavor to your millet cheesecake.
It provides a continual elegant taste in every bite and blends well with cooked millet. You can also use orange or lemon juice if you are out of pineapple juice.
Almonds or cashews
Life is always better when you have healthy and flavorsome nuts by your side. Soak one cup of nuts beforehand in water. Then add cashews or almonds in paste form for your cheesecake filling.
You can choose either cashews or almonds or both. They will give millet cheesecake the exquisite nutty flavor and creamy taste for which they are famous.
Agar gel
After reading the name, you might have considered agar gel as a thickener. However, Agar gel is also a laxative, giving a sensation of fullness.
You can mix a teaspoon of agar gel in hot water to have a perfectly set cheesecake in no time.
Coconut milk
Some people don’t like shredded coconut and think the same about coconut milk. But do you know that the secret of a dense and flavorful cheesecake is coconut milk? It is dairy-free and has a mild coconut flavor, making it a plus. So prepare a luscious cheesecake by blending the mixture with coconut milk.
Vanilla
Aside from the tangy flavored juices, we are adding to our millet cheesecake; the most overpowering flavor is vanilla extract. It will give your cheesecake a soothing aroma and make it a hit.
Dates
Nature has provided us with many healthy things, and dates are one of them. They are the best alternative to white sugar, which is known to be a poison.
Dates can be soaked overnight and added to cheesecake in the blended form. The results will be a bit light and a sugary flicker to the millet cheesecake.
Salt
A pinch of salt can do wonders. Don’t forget to add it to blend all the flavors.
